The Andrews Labor Government is relieving pressure on the packed Berwick train station car park with funding provided for up to 110 new parking spaces in the 2016/17 Victorian Budget.

The budget delivers more than $19 million to expand station car parks in the outer-suburbs of Melbourne and regional Victoria where more parking spaces are needed most.

More than 1,500 extra spaces will be created at railway station car parks across the metropolitan and regional networks, including at Berwick.

Parking at the Berwick train station was last increased by the Brumby Labor Government in 2009.

The Labor Government is also improving bus connections to train stations with more bus routes coordinating with trains.

It’s part of the Labor Government’s overhaul of Victoria’s public transport system, to run more trains, that turn up on time more often, for a growing Victoria.
