The Berwick District Woodworkers have celebrated thirty extraordinary years at their annual Toy Gala Day on the weekend.

The woodworkers first met in 1986 in a house in Hampton Park with just seven members in attendance, including Jan Veenstra who is still a member today.

There are now 95 dedicated and hardworking members who each and every year generously donate their time and skills to handcraft toys for Christmas.

This year alone almost 1000 handcrafted toys were provided to local not for profit organisations to distribute to families in needs.

State Member for Narre Warren South Judith Couacaud Graley also received toys to donate to disadvantaged children within the Narre Warren South electorate.
