The Narre Warren SES Unit has been rewarded for their outstanding work in the local community with a $15,068 grant to purchase much needed equipment.

As part of the 2015-16 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) the Unit has received a grant to purchase equipment for operations and to provide backup power supply to the Unit’s Local Headquarters during emergencies.

The equipment which includes generators, portable lighting, tools, a ladder and storage will also ensure volunteers can respond more quickly and efficiently to requests for assistance.

Last year alone the Narre Warren SES Unit responded to over 650 requests for assistance over an area of more than 400 square kilometres and 390,000 local residents.
