The Andrews Labor Government has put the health of local families first by providing $106.3 million for the long awaited and much needed expansion of Casey Hospital.

In Today’s State Budget the Andrews Labor Government fulfilled a key election commitment and provided funding for the expansion of Casey Hospital as part of a $560 million capital and infrastructure program for new and upgraded hospital buildings.

The expansion will include a new inpatient tower, four new operating theatres, a new surgery recovery centre and 96 extra beds, including Casey’s first intensive care unit.

This significant expansion will enable Casey Hospital to treat 12,000 more patents, conduct 8000 more surgeries and support 500 more births.
