The Andrews Labor Government has provided $21 million as part of today’s State Budget for planning and pre-construction work for the duplication of Thompsons Road.

The much needed upgrade will minimise delays, increase traffic flow, improve road safety while also improving transport links for the growing local community.

The funding will allow for detailed planning which will include design, environmental
studies, traffic modelling, identifying underground services and property surveys.

The Thompsons Road upgrade will see the duplication of the remaining seven kilometres of Thompsons Road between Dandenong-Frankston Road and the South Gippsland Highway and between Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road and Berwick-Cranbourne Road.

In the coming months, local residents will have the opportunity to comment on proposed concept designs and attend consultation and information sessions.
