ANDREWS LABOR GOVERNMENT TO SUPPORT LOCAL SCHOOLS AND KIDS IN NEED
The Andrews Labor Government has provided funding certainty for non-government
schools, ensuring the needs of each and every child in Narre Warren South will be assessed equally.
The Education Training and Reform Amendment (Funding for Non-Government Schools) Bill was passed through Parliament last night, giving independent and catholic schools funding certainty.
This legislation will ensure that funding for non-government schools will be allocated on the basis of student need so that our most disadvantaged families receive enough support.
It will also provide transparency to the entire education sector and ensure growth in government school funding flows through to non-government schools.
Ms Graley said that the legislation will ensure funding for non-government schools goes to the students who need it the most.
“This funding will directly support the teaching, learning and welfare of students who deserve to have access to the highest quality education, regardless of which schools they attend,”
“We will work together with our fantastic non-government schools to ensure they can continue serving our uniquely diverse and multicultural community and support those in need of an extra helping hand,”
“The Andrews Labor Government is committed to supporting each and every student in our local community by reinvesting in our schools and supporting local families with school costs.”
