APPRENTICESHIP FUNDING CUT AS EDUCATION LOSES OUT AGAIN

State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley condemned the Napthine
Government’s decision to scrap the $20 million trade bonus for apprentices.

Ms Graley said that skilled apprentices will no longer be eligible to receive the
bonus at the commencement of their apprenticeships.

“Local apprentices already reeling from the savage $1.2 billion worth of cuts to our
TAFE system are now facing further hardship,”

“Instead of providing an incentive for young people to complete an apprenticeship Dr Napthine has made it much harder for our young people to find a job,”

“Dr Napthine has made his position clear, educations and skills just don`t matter.”

Ms Graley called on Dr Napthine to explain to local families how we will now support young people in finding work.

“Local families have every right to feel let down by this appalling decision,”

“It just goes to show that Casey families can’t trust Dr Napthine and the
Liberals.”
