Baillieu Government delays construction of Casey Cardinia Special School
A ‘slap in the face’
Shame on Gembrook Liberal MP Brad Battin and the Baillieu Government for delaying the much needed Casey Cardinia Special School by at least 12 months.
Cathy Smith, the leader of Supporters for a Special School for Casey-Cardinia, was right when she said that this was a ‘slap in the face’.
I was at the Pakenham meeting before the last state election where Mr Battin and the now Education Minister Martin Dixon promised $10 million for a special school in Officer to be opened in 2013, only after Labor had already made this promise.
Since then, the project has blown out in both timing and cost.
The Baillieu Government must stop its dithering and get this new special school delivered on time and with adequate budget to meet the needs of local families.
