Berwick Springs community celebrate opening of new pavilion
Congratulations to the Berwick Springs community on the opening of their fantastic new pavilion, State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley said today.
The new pavilion, jointly funded by Casey Council and a grant approved by the former Labor Government, was officially opened on Sunday.
The pavilion includes much needed additional change room space, a multipurpose community room, additional kitchen and store room.
Ms Graley said she was very pleased that Casey Council listened to the concerns of club members and moved to provide the extension.
“The Berwick Spring Sports Club has been in desperate need of additional change room space for a long time,”
“There has been a shortage of community meeting space in the local area, so the Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House and Berwick Springs Residents and Owners Association will be making good use of the new community room,”
“We now have a community asset at Berwick Springs Park that we can all be proud of.”
Berwick Springs Sports Club president Matt Osborne said the new pavilion was once a “pipe dream” and thanked Ms Graley for bringing it to the attention of the former Labor Government.
Ms Graley said the opening was the culmination of a lot of hard work by many local people.
“After many meetings between the Berwick Springs Sports Club, Council and the former Labor Government, we managed to obtain a grant to ensure this dream came true.” she said
