Burden Park and Hampton Park bowls clubs faced off in an exhibition game at the
Parliament of Victoria earlier this week.

Sharing boundaries, Martin Pakula MP, Member for Lyndhurst, and Judith Graley MP,
Member for Narre Warren South, hosted the clubs in a friendly game.

Burden Park narrowly defeated Hampton Park 36 – 24 points.

Mr Pakula said both teams put on a great display, but ultimately only one team
could claim the win.

Ms Graley said that Hampton Park Bowls Club should be proud of their efforts.

“I know next year Hampton Park will be hungry to win back some bragging rights and
claim a win”, she said.

Geoff Ladner from Hampton Park said that, “We had a great day today and it is a real
novelty to be able to have a friendly game at such an iconic Victorian landmark.”

Neil Smiley from Burden Park said, “This is the first time I have bowled at Parliament and not many people know that it is available to the public. The bowling green is superb and the surrounding gardens are magnificent.”

The Parliament of Victoria also has function rooms and garden areas available to
the public for events.
