Students at Hampton Park Primary School have joined with thousands of students across the state in tackling creative and unique math challenges as part of Education week.

Ms Graley visited the school and took part in some hands-on maths activities with one of the prep classes.

The theme of this year’s Education Week was Maths and schools were encouraged to take part and provide students with opportunities to use their math skills to solve real-life problems.

Higher level maths and coding skills are increasingly important in the workplace including in Information Communications Technology, engineering, architecture and medical research.

Almost every industry sector requires people with maths proficiency, our hardworking nurses, chefs and tradespeople all need to perform calculations and measurements as part of their jobs.

The Andrews Labor Government is committed to transforming Victoria into the Education State and ensuring our young people have the opportunity to develop the maths skills they need to thrive in the modern world.
