Relief is in sight for local commuters with the Andrews Labor Government delivering on its election promise to provide toilets at Hallam Station.

Construction of the toilets at Hallam is well progressed with site investigations, testing, design and foundations for the toilet building now complete.

Works continue with construction of a retaining wall and removal of landscaping beds in preparation for the delivery of the toilets in March.

The new automated toilets are self-cleaning and will feature large cubicles to improve accessibility, a durable floor, stainless steel walls and LED lighting.

This project will also see the creation of an additional eight car parking spaces for passenger use.

This initiative is the first of its kind on the public transport network and will provide the pathway for future initiatives across the network.
