State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley has recognised the fine work of the Hampton Park CFA in Parliament this week.

Ms Graley spoke about the extraordinary efforts of local volunteers and asked the Minister for Emergency Services, Jane Garrett to visit and meet with them.

“I recently had the great pleasure of visiting this fantastic fire brigade to meet with their volunteers and see firsthand the state of their current facilities,”

“Unfortunately their facilities are extremely small and outdated, lacking change rooms,
adequate training areas, secure parking and everything is located within the one space, including equipment,”

“There is simply no room for growth and many enthusiastic new volunteers are stuck on a waiting list,”

“I have asked the Minister to visit to not only meet with these wonderful volunteers
but to also see the many challenges they face as they strive to protect our community during its most difficult times,”

“The men and women of our Hampton Park CFA are true local heroes, they deserve not only our gratitude for all that they do but also our support and assistance.”
