KILBERRY VALLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL TO LEAD THE WAY IN MATHS AND SCIENCE

Students at Kilberry Valley Primary School will soon be cracking codes and undertaking experiments with specialist maths and science teachers.

As part of the $27 million Primary Mathematics and Science Specialists initiative two
teachers from Kilberry Valley Primary School will receive professional training.

Both teachers will receive two years of training and support to become subject area specialists in maths and science.

These specialist teachers will ensure our talented students can take the first step towards becoming the next generation of engineers, doctors, accountants and scientists.

The Primary Mathematics and Science Specialists initiative is part of the Education State reforms, and aims to build teacher capacity and boost primary students’ engagement and achievement.

Teaching quality is one of the most important factors in maths and science education,
and improvement in teaching effectiveness is closely linked to improvement in student learning.
