LABOR WILL DELIVER NEW AND IMPROVED BUS SERVICES FOR CASEY

An Andrews Labor Government will invest $100 million to improve local bus networks, adding more routes and services and extending others, restoring services cut by the Liberals and fixing the missing links in growth areas.

The new services to be provided or improved include:

  • A new Cranbourne to Pearcedale service
  • A new Hallam Station to Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre service
  • Extend the 847 Berwick to Casey Central route into the new estate
      south of Glasscocks Road
  • More 799 Cranbourne North to Merinda Park services on weekdays and Saturdays
  • More 898 Cranbourne East to Cranbourne Station services on
    Saturdays
  • Extend the 798 Cranbourne Shopping Centre to Selandra Drive route
    with more services   on Saturdays
  • Extend the 897 Cranbourne to Dandenong route via Merinda Park,
Lynbrook and Dandenong South, servicing the growing estates west of Cranbourne

Ms Graley said that Labor’s plan would address the shocking lack of public transport links in our growing community, improve the frequency of services and reinvest in services cut by the Liberals.

“The Liberals have failed to deliver a single new bus service for residents of Narre Warren South in four long years,”

“Instead we have seen services cut, performance worsen and those in growing areas left without access to public transport,”

“Students have even been left sitting on the side of the road waiting for services that have been cancelled or rerouted,”

“I am just so pleased that Labor will finally end the neglect and deliver an improved bus service, with more routes for our long suffering local residents.”
