NAPTHINE’S BOTCHED TRANSPORT SCHEME IS A DISASTER FOR

Under Denis Napthine’s botched rail scheme no trains on the Pakenham and Cranbourne Lines will run through the City Loop –ever.

The so-called Melbourne Rail Link will dump Pakenham and Cranbourne Line passengers at Southern Cross Station, on the other side of Melbourne’s CBD.

Shadow Minister for Public Transport, Jill Hennessy, joined Labor Member for Narre Warren South, Judith Graley, at Hallam Station today to talk to commuters about the botched transport scheme.

Quotes attributable to Ms Hennessy:

“Denis Napthine had one chance to build a world-class public transport system and he blew it.”

“Under Denis Napthine, trains on our busiest rail corridor won’t stop at our busiest stations.”

“Only Labor will build Melbourne Metro rail, which will double the size of the City Loop.”

Quotes attributable to Ms Graley:

“This is a disaster for commuters in Hampton Park,”

“Commuters who are yet to see a single new bus service and are still waiting for a toilet at Hallam Station,”

“Now if they want to go through the Loop, they will be forced to change onto a packed train later on.”
