NAPTHINE’S BOTCHED TRANSPORT SCHEME IS A DISASTER FOR
Under Denis Napthine’s botched rail scheme no trains on the Pakenham and Cranbourne Lines will run through the City Loop –ever.
The so-called Melbourne Rail Link will dump Pakenham and Cranbourne Line passengers at Southern Cross Station, on the other side of Melbourne’s CBD.
Shadow Minister for Public Transport, Jill Hennessy, joined Labor Member for Narre Warren South, Judith Graley, at Hallam Station today to talk to commuters about the botched transport scheme.

- Over the last ten years there has been a 70 per cent increase in the number of
people using Melbourne’s metropolitan train system – particularly during peak
- It is predicted that over the next two decades the number of trips on the rail
network will increase to 1.7 million each day.
- Labor will remove 14 level crossings if elected along the Pakenham and Cranbourne Line
- Last year, Victorian Labor announced Project 10,000, a plan to remove our 50
worst level crossings and double the size of the City Loop.
