NO MORE EXCUSES MR BAILLIEU – CASEY HOSPITAL NEEDS MORE BEDS

The Federal Labor Government’s decision to invest $107 million into Victoria’s hospitals now means the Baillieu Government must provide Casey Hospital with more beds, State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley said today.

“Mr Baillieu has run out of excuses,” Ms Graley said

“The Premier and his Health Minister can no longer play politics with people’s health,”

“They must take full responsibility for record long elective surgery waiting lists, stretched emergency departments and blown out ambulance response times,”

“The Baillieu Government must immediately reverse its $616 million cuts to our health system and honour its election commitment of 800 new beds,”

“And Mr Baillieu must immediately commit to providing more beds for Casey Hospital, just as the former Labor Government did in 2010.”

Ms Graley said the Baillieu Government was concealing the true state of our hospitals from Victorians.

“Mr Baillieu and his Health Minister have failed to release the Statement of Priorities for Victoria’s health services and two quarters of hospital performance data,”

“They are deliberately hiding this information because its release would expose the true extent of the Baillieu Government’s mismanagement of the health system.”
