The Napthine Government’s State Budget has failed to provide funding for a single new bed at Casey Hospital, State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley said today.

Ms Graley said that the Napthine Government had promised to cut elective surgery waiting times, deliver 800 new beds and fix the health system,”

“Instead we have seen $826 million slashed from Victorian Hospitals, only 43 new hospital beds and a hospital system that has been plunged into crisis,”

“Ambulances are taking hours to arrive; emergency patients are being crammed into hospital corridors and our loved ones are waiting longer than ever to be treated,”

“The elective surgery waiting list at Casey Hospital has blown out with over 2000 people now waiting, joining thousands more across the state,”

“The Emergency Department is overflowing, ambulances are being forced to ramp outside for hundreds of hours each month and Mr Napthine has refused to lift a finger to fix the problem,”

“It is clear that neither Mr Napthine, nor his Minister for Health care about the health and well-being of residents in Casey,”

“After so many broken promises, you just can’t trust the Liberals with our health system.”
