PAINTING WITH PARKINSONS BOOKMARKS A HIT

State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley was joined by Shadow Minister for Disability Services, Danielle Green to launch a series of bookmarks designed by artists from local group Painting with Parkinson’s.

Painting with Parkinson’s is an art therapy class run by Anne Atkin for those suffering from Parkinson’s.

Ms Graley said that she had recently attended one of Anne’s classes and had left very impressed by not only the skill of the artists but their passion for art.

“I had been searching for a new design for my bookmarks for a while and after spending just a few hours with this extraordinary group I knew I had found my artists,”

“Their obvious joy from the freedom provided by this class was infectious and I had no doubt they would produce a range of outstanding designs.”

Ms Graley said that although it was a very difficult choice to narrow it down to just eight designs, she was extremely pleased with the finished product.

“I would love for as many people as possible to enjoy the artistry of our local painters,”

“If anyone would like a free bookmark please contact me on 9704 6055 or at judith.graley@parliament.vic.gov.au,”

“Thank you Anne, and the team at Painting with Parkinson’s, you should be immensely proud of your efforts.”
