Dear Editor

Pound and Shrives Road intersection must be improved

Without hesitation I support the call from local residents for safety upgrades to the intersection of Pound Road and Shrives Road in Hampton Park.

I have received numerous phone calls, letters and emails from concerned residents frustrated by the constant delays and accidents that occur at this dangerous intersection.

I am pleased to note that Casey Council has written to the Minister asking for urgent funding for safety improvements, however I too have written to the Minister on multiple occasions and the responses have been consistently disappointing.

In fact, while the previous Labor Government committed $500 million to local roads, the Baillieu Government’s first budget failed to allocate a single cent to road upgrades in Casey.

The Baillieu Government must stop the excuses, listen to local residents and provide funding in the upcoming budget for much needed safety improvements to the intersection of Pound Road and Shrives Road.
