REBECCA FISCHER AWARDED DENESE BARTLETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

State Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley has congratulated Narre Warren South P-12 College student Rebecca Fischer on receiving the Denese Bartlett Memorial Scholarship.

Each year, Ms Graley presents the scholarship to a female year 11 student from Narre Warren South P-12 College.

The Scholarship is in honour of Denese Bartlett, a local mother who whilst fighting cancer led the campaign for the establishment of Narre Warren South P-12 College.

Ms Graley said that Rebecca Fischer has displayed outstanding leadership qualities and become a role model to her classmates.

“Rebecca has been involved in leadership positions since her first class captaincy position in grade three and has recently been appointed as one of the school captains for 2014,”

“Such is her commitment to helping others, Rebecca is now planning a mentoring program for Year 6 students facing the transition to high school next year,”

“In addition, Rebecca has organised a number of fundraising events and activities at school for a variety of good causes,”

“There is no doubt the fighting spirit of Denese Bartlett lives on in our exceptional Rebecca and I know she will continue to play in important leadership role within our community.”
