Staff and students from River Gum Primary School have stepped up for the environment and taken part in Schools Tree Day.

Schools Tree Day is a special day for schools across the country to help out by planting and caring for native trees and shrubs to improve the environment in which they live.

Ms Graley, who donated native trees and plants to River Gum Primary School congratulated the school community for taking part in such a worthwhile endeavour.

“The enthusiasm displayed by students and staff ensured the day was a fantastic success and an important step in protecting our local environment,”

“I was particularly impressed by the knowledge of the children on the need to keep planting native trees and shrubs,”

“I have no doubt that the students will take great care of their new plants and will take great pride in watching them flourish in the years to come,”

“We must continue to do all we can as community to protect the environment in which we live by planting native trees and plants in our schools and parks.”
