ST KEVIN’S PRIMARY SCHOOL CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF HALLAM ROAD

The St Kevin’s Primary School community is celebrating the completion of a $40 million upgrade to Hallam Road that included a new signalised pedestrian crossing for the school.

The school community joined with local residents to campaign for pedestrian operated lights in 2010 following a number of serious accidents, including six deaths on Hallam Road.

Ms Graley congratulated the school community for their outstanding passion and
commitment to make Hallam Road safe for motorists and pedestrians alike.

“It was an absolute privilege to work with our wonderful local community to deliver
this much needed upgrade and a pedestrian crossing for St Kevin’s Primary School,”

“Students and their families were quite rightly concerned about the dangers of crossing
Hallam Road and I`m just so pleased that Labor Governments have delivered for them.”

St Kevin’s Primary School student Abhinav Chanakya said that it was fantastic to see the new crossing in action.

“Many of my friends and their families use the crossing to get to and from school,”

“It’s now so much safer and easier to cross Hallam Road, before it was just too
busy.”
