Fountain Gate Secondary College’s Future Problem Solving team, ENGAGE is set to compete in the World Championships of the Future Problem Solving competition later this year.

The Andrews Labor Government has provided a $15,000 grant to ensure the team can travel to Iowa, USA to represent Australia.

Team ENGAGE is taking on the very serious issue of youth disengagement and unemployment in the local community by introducing a careers program for students in year seven.

Ms Graley was joined by the State Labor Member for Narre Warren North, Luke Donnellan MP to give the good news to the outstanding members of team ENGAGE.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to meet and work with this team as they have taken on such an important issue within our local community,”

“Their project is now well underway and Fountain Gate Secondary College will soon have a new Careers Hub for their students,”

“The outstanding work of this team will ensure that young people who are disengaged or finding it difficult to secure training or work get the advice and assistance they need,”

“I know that this team will again make us proud as they take on the world and I wish them all the best for such an exciting and worthwhile adventure.”

Mr Donnellan said that these extraordinary students should be exceptionally proud of all that they have achieved so far.

“Their work to address youth disengagement and unemployment has been outstanding and will benefit not only Fountain Gate Secondary College but our local community.”
