VICTORIAN MILK AND BAKED BEANS ARE BACK ON THE MENU

Local students will be served up Victorian milk from next year, under a new deal to boost the state’s struggling dairy industry and help support farmers.

The Pactum Dairy Group in Shepparton will exclusively supply milk to the Andrews Labor Government’s School Breakfast Clubs program from 2017.

The program currently provides students with free breakfasts at Hampton Park Primary School, River Gum Primary School, Coral Park Primary School, Kilberry Valley Primary School and Narre Warren South P-12 College.

Australia grown baked beans will also be on the menu from next year with SPC Ardmona in Shepparton suppling 80 tonnes of baked beans for the program.

“This fantastic program ensures that students who would often turn up to school with an empty stomach have the fuel they need to get stuck into the learning,”

“They are now getting a healthy start to their day and are providing a much needed boost to our struggling dairy farmers.”
