Akira Secondary College has paid tribute to the 6 million Jewish people who perished in the holocaust at a moving remembrance ceremony earlier this week.

The ceremony was organised and run by students and staff to honour the memory of
the many innocent lives lost and to ensure this tragedy is never forgotten.

“Once again the outstanding Alkira school community has come together to respectfully
honour those who were taken from us during the holocaust,”

“I was particularly impressed by the students who spoke and their resolve to ensure we
never allow this to happen again,”

“Well done to everyone involved, it is through efforts such as your own that we will keep
alive the memory of those we have lost.”
