When You Need A Friend

A Friendship Chair, handcrafted by the Berwick Woodworkers Club, was presented to the Berwick Chase Primary School, State Labor Member for Narre Warren South Judith Graley said today.

“A Friendship Chair is a place for kids to go if they feel lonely to find new friends. By sitting on the chair, you let others know that you need some help,”

“Len Preece made the beautiful chair by hand from the oak trees cut down from the duplication of Clyde Road,”

“The trees have had to dry out for the past two years before being able to be used.”

“It is a little bit of Berwick returning to Berwick Chase Primary School,”

“A big thank you to the ‘Woodies’ – the chair is a stunning piece of craftsmanship.”

Principal of Berwick Chase Primary School, Mr Murray Geddes said, “It is great that the community gets involved in the school. I’d like to thank Judith and the Woodworkers for all their support.”
