WORK BEGINS ON BRIDGEWATER FAMILY CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT

Work has begun on a major redevelopment of the Bridgewater Family and Community Centre, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

State Member for Narre Warren South Judith Couacaud Graley launched the redevelopment of the Bridgewater Family and Community Centre on Monday and toured the development site.
The redevelopment project includes a third kindergarten playroom, outdoor play space, upgraded maternal and child health space, new multi-purpose community room, reception area and café.

The project will deliver much-needed 60 new kindergarten places and create dozens of jobs during construction.

Enrolment figures reveal a high demand for the existing Bridgewater Kindergarten service and more Berwick residents chose to visit the Maternal and Child Health service operating at Bridgewater Children’s Centre over any other centre in Casey.

The funds for this project are part of the Labor Government’s $50 million Interface Growth Fund (IGF), which is helping outer-suburban communities build local family and community centres, town centres, parks and reserves and playgrounds.
