Labor will expand Casey Hospital
I was thrilled to join with the Leader of the Opposition Daniel Andrews to announce that Casey Hospital will get a $106.3 million major expansion under an Andrews Labor Government.
With Labor’s expansion, the dedicated hospital for Melbourne’s south east will meet the needs of one of Australia’s fastest growing areas, catering for 12,000 more patients, 8000 more surgeries and 500 more births.
Labor will build an eight storey inpatient unit from the ground up, with four new operating theatres, a new surgery recovery centre and Casey’s first intensive care unit.
CT and MRI services and day surgery admissions at Casey will also be expanded. Ninety six extra beds will be opened, with room created for a further 64 beds if required in the future.
Labor built Casey Hospital, now we are going to make it bigger and better to ensure local families can get the very best care close to home.
